Promotional Video + Evalutation

Overall I am quite pleased with my final video that I created as I feel that it has reflected what my client and what I also envisioned for the short advert that they wanted me to create. I feel for what I was attempting to make I picked the right choice of shots to make and also type of editing. For example, because the purpose is to try and show off the business and tell the audience what is on offer, I chose to use a number of establishing shots and panning shots as I felt that these helped best to convey the business environment. This was also useful as it means that for that potential audience who may be looking for a specific business with certain equipment, they can find that thanks to the use of panning shots that showed off the property. I also chose panning shots because it keeps the video in motion and not make it seem like its dragging, which is quite important for a short advert that is supposed to go onto social media such as Facebook, which is what the client had in mind. With the editing I went with a number of cross dissolve transitions as to once again make the video seem smooth and continuous and not to slow, also it slightly makes the video more interesting and appealing to view which is good for an advert because the audience might want to continue watching. I also chose to use text overlay to convey message as it isn't a lot to look at and read, and also on social media people may not be listening with audio and so text still helps get across the message. The song I chose to include over the top is a license free song created by my friend, and my choice of including this into the video is that if people are watching with audio is will just make it more appealing to watch with a nice catchy track over the top of the advert. Some issues I had with filming were the number plates of some cars that ended up in some shots, and so I had to blur them out, and another slight issue was with the lighting as the camera would sometimes pan from inside where the lighting is low key, to outside where the lighting is high key causing the footage to be darker sometimes or brighter, but luckily this didn't cause too much issues with the final footage.
