Production Video Planning

Location recce

Attleborough Fields Industrial Estate
RS Autos Electrical Service

Prior to shooting the footage I did recce of the location I was intending to shoot at and the images help show what I was working with.

When looking around I noticed that obviously working inside of a garage would mean I could face a number of issues that I would have to overcome, for example lighting would be one of them as the main source of high key lighting would be from natural light coming through the doors since the inside lights were quite dim, meaning that shooting would have to be done on a day with few clouds and a lot of light.

As well as shooting issues, where were also a number of health and safety concerns that I would have to deal with as I would be filming inside of an working garage with a number of hazards ranging from minor stuff to very serious stuff. Things include trip hazards from machinery and cables on the floor, to hazardous substances that could be spilled over. So when shooting I would have to take great care of my surroundings and where I will be moving as to avoid injury to myself or damage to any equipment I will have.

Health and Safety Issues:
Trip hazard from spillages, machinery or wires - Before shoot ensure surrounding area is clear of any hazards that could cause tripping
Falling objects from cars being lifted - Best way to avoid injury is with safety boots and possibly hard hat for extreme safety, just try to avoid standing under things that fall
Sharp objects, cuts and gashes - To avoid these it's best to try and avoid putting hands near anything that could potentially prove to cut skin, or if required where safety gloves.
