For this challenge we were tasked with creating a short film from an unusual perspective, which could literally be anything that just seems odd to the viewer. So we decided to go on inspiration gained from a dog squirrel perspective to do the unusual perspective of a fly, or bee whatever it wants to bee.
To pull off the perspective of a fly we had the cameraman move the camera around in fluid and odd like ways as if it were a fly, by pushing it up to faces, or landing it on trees and poles as seen in the final footage. The narrative for it was just to have a fly follow some people around and harass them, and this ended up working well in cohesion with the idea we came up with as it mimicked what flys or bees do a lot of the time to people. With effects we added over a distorted look effect to sort of mimic what a fly might see but this was received with some criticisms from peers for beings a bit odd and confusing. For the audio we settled on removing the diegetic audio and recording separate audio of Jack saying "Buzz" over and over again in different ways, this was to add some comedy to the short film and make it more enjoyable to watch. We did come up with the idea to add subtitles to show the audience what the bee might be thinking however we ended up not doing this, but later it was suggested by peers that it might have been even better with subtitles.
